Sometimes I want colors at the opposite end of the wheel and sometimes I want the colors to share a common base. It also depends on who I am making it for...their favorites. The scarf looks great! As for how I choose colors - it really depends on what I am making. If it is a sweater, I pick things which look well with my skintone.
