  • This Isn’t Helping.

It’s hard to focus on work today. You can tell I’m procrastinating when the house is super clean, I’m making plans for dinner at 11 a.m, etc. If I’m stopping in the middle of the day to fold clothes, things must be really bad.

    And then there’s this:

    Fil de la Mer

I’m not supposed to be coming up with new designs right now, but they keep popping into my head, because it’s that time of year. It would help if swatching yarn didn’t just show up at my doorstep in the middle of the day. Amazingly beautiful seaweed and silk yarn in gorgeous subtle semi-solid shades. Which one do you like best? (for me, it’s the blue). Luckily, it’s tied into skeins. I. will. not. wind. it. Not yet, any way.

  • Real Live Model

    Sweater Mosaic

I talked one of the dads at Selma’s bus stop into modeling the men’s raglan for me. Then, when I showed the pictures to my brother to get his opinion, he decided he’d like to design a sweater and started sketching (see below).

    Nhoj's Sketch

Don’t you think this sort of has a Star-Trek feel to it? (Especially with the matching pants). That’s what you get when you let computer programmer brothers start designing clothes. I told him if he really wanted such a sweater, he’d have to crochet it himself, but he was undeterred, “This designing is fun!” he said, “I can see why you like it so much.”

p.s. John says his drawing is now cc-licensed.
